Estoy planeando algo que, si los dioses me dan su beneplácito, empezará a ver la luz un poco antes de primavera. Los primeros en ver los cambios serán este blog y mi web. Poco a poco iré actualizando, pero por el momento, prefiero esperar y crear un poco de suspense, que nunca viene mal.

El invierno ya lleva por estas tierras unas cuantas semanas... al menos lo que mi organismo mediterráneo considera invierno, y con este tiempo no me apetece mucho más que hacerme una bola en el sofá, enfundarme en una mantita y coger un libro o ver una peli al calor calentito de la estufita. Ahora mismo estoy con "Choque de Reyes", de George R. R. Martin, y cada vez que alguien repite la sobada frase de "Se acerca el invierno", siento ganas de gritar: "¡Ya lo noto! ¡Cállate ya!"

I'm up to something which, if the gods consent, will start to see the light sometime before Spring. This blog and my website will be the first to see some changes. I'll keep you updated every so often, but I'd rather wait for now. A little suspense never killed anyone.

Winter already got here some weeks ago... at least what my Mediterranean organism considers Winter. And with this kind of weather, I just feel like curling up on the sofa all wrapped up in a blanket and read a book or watch a film with the heater on. Right now I'm reading "A Clash of Kings" by George R. R. Martin and every time somebody repeats the oh-so-kneaded "Winter is coming" thingy, I just want to yell: "I know! Just shut the f*** up already!".

Pues nada, que... // Well, then...

... ¡que me he casado! Y, creedme, oh, solteros del planeta, hay una gran diferencia entre estar soltera y estar casada.

... I got married! And, believe me, oh, you singles of the planet, there's a huge difference between being single and being married.

El último cómic que conseguí terminar fue aquel que hice allá por 1º de Bachillerato (y del cual no quiero acordarme), así que llevo muchos años con el mono de hacer un cómic sencillito y, con suerte, con un poco de gracia. El otro día pasó algo que me hizo reflexionar sobre mi nueva vida trabajando desde casa y mi consecuente estado mental. 

The last comic book I managed to finish was one that I did back in high school (and which I rather not remember) and I've had a monkey on my back ever since. During all these years, I have wanted to do a  series of simple and, hopefully, slightly funny comic pages. Incidentally, something happened the other day which made me reflect on my new work-at-home life and my ensuing mental state.

He aquí la primera entrega de lo que espero que sea una pequeña serie basada en hechos reales.

Here's the first issue of what I hope becomes a little comic series based on true stories.

De batines y tés // Of dressing gowns and tea

Ayer me compré, por fin, uno de esos súper-batines con capucha (y bolsillos en forma de corazón) que tan anti-eróticos resultan a los hombres pero que tantas ganas tenía de echarme por encima.

Yesterday I finally bought one of those hooded super cosy dressing gowns (with heart shaped pockets) that men find so antierotic but that I was so eager to snuggle in.

Tal fue mi gozo al enfundarme en mi recién adquirido batincito, que hice este dibujo.

Such was my pleasure when I muffled up in my recently purchased dressing gown, that I did this drawing.

P.D. Aparte de mi súper-bata, el té "chai" de Twinings también es el amor.

P.S. Besides my new super fancy dressing gown, Twinings "chai" tea is teh love, too.

Me voy a casita en unos días, a disfrutar del sol español un par de semanas mientras TRABAJO y no me quejo, que ya es más de lo que muchos pueden decir. ¡Volveré con buenas noticias!

I'm going home in a few days to enjoy the Spanish sun for a couple of weeks while I WORK, and I'm not complaining because that's much more than some could say. I'll be back with some great news!

Crazy cat lady me

En Albarracín conseguí dar la imagen que quería a mi montón de compañeros desconocidos: La de una total y absoluta loca de los gatos en potencia. Tal fue la imagen que alguien, en la orla que nos hicimos, me dibujó con máscara de Cat Woman (fotos pronto). Fantástico.

I managed to give the image that I wanted to my unfamiliar classmates in Albarracín: An utterly potential crazy cat lady. Such was this image that someone drew me in a Cat Woman mask in the portrait poster we did (photos soon). Fantastic.

Que me cogieran en las Jornadas Internacionales de Ilustración y Diseño de la Fundación Santa María de Albarracín (sí, sí, ese es Miguel Gallardo sentadico a mi lado en las escaleras).

No sé cómo se llama pero es un palito rojo por fuera y blanco por dentro. Aunque los blancos por fuera y rojos por dentro me pirran también. Ñam, ñam.

I don't know what it's called but it's red on the outside and white on the inside. Even though I also love the ones which are white on the outside and red on the inside. Yummy.

Tengo muchos lugares favoritos y, aunque casi todos incluyen Naturaleza y tranquilidad, me he decidido por uno hipotético en el que sé que estaría muy agustito: ¡una cesta de gaticos!

I've got a lot of favourite places and, even though most of them include Nature and peace, I finally went for a hypothetical one: a basket full of kitties!

First proposal for Las Vagonetas, a self-portrait. I made it in gouache and, frankly, I must get a lot better. Or buy some good brushes. Or really both...

Dos buenas amigas y yo hemos empezado un blog para animarnos a dibujar, Las Vagonetas. El diseño todavía está en fase de construcción, pero esta es mi contribución a la cabecera.

Esto es un autorretrato que me hice en abril, mirándome a un espejito. Intenté usar el Photoshop como la pintura real. No sé si lo conseguí porque hace mucho tiempo que no pinto así...

This is a self-portrait I did back in April, looking at a small mirror. I tried to use Photoshop as real paint. I don't know if I really managed since it's been quite a long time since I don't paint this way...

Mientras no me pinche el ojo... // As long as I don't prick my eye...
